Hiatus

I have instituted an official hiatus of this blog until I compose a vision statement for said blog.

A Spider: A First Picture in the Thirty Day Series

As per usual, I waited until the sun started setting before capturing images to post. I guess I waited until the best time of the day.

I was outside, gazing over the lawn before watering it, when I saw this little spider, nestled in the center of its web, between the leaves of the lemon tree. After trying many times to catch a glimmer of the web in the photo, I finally decided to stop and complete the task I set out to accomplish: watering the lawn.

After the blades of grass (or rather, the tentacles of weeds) were watered, I returned to the little spider and its web, now sprinkled with water droplets. Right before I snapped this, a wayward fly had crashed into the web, escaping only by the sheer velocity of its flight, before the predator was able to strike.

A New Activity

It looks like I've only been posting about once a month.

Things have been busy at home. I've experienced more of hospitals and the health care system than one would ever care to know. That won't end for a while, but let's not dwell on that.

I recently read, somewhere, about someone, who decided to pick something and do that for a month, be it eating out, journaling, or drawing. I think my goal for the next thirty days will be to take & post ONE photograph each day. I have always enjoyed photography, and I like landscapes, both urban and natural. I think it would be more appropriate for me to say I like "scapes" if that is even a word.

So, beginning tomorrow, I will post a picture. If I feel compelled by the Muses, perhaps I will add a pithy description. Perhaps.

This is a test post

This is a test post. I am curious about what my type-fount looks like. I changed some settings earlier. The photo to the left is a from a recent trip to Boston. It features a ladder and some lights of a restaurant. Things have been busy at home. More to come.

Final Final Final Finals

It's my last finals period ever! At least for a while.
Let me tell you about what I've been doing for the past three days: nothing. not enough. thinking about and planning more exciting things like summer plans, life plans, community development, and delicious food at home. I'm procrastinating so much! Let's procrastinate more. I shall create a wish-list of what I need to and want to do before I jet-set out of here.

Things to do:
visit the Book Mill again
run around the fountain before it is filled
drink lots of coffee and learn how to brew the best coffee ever
mother's day present
visit the fourth floor of seelye
eat more yogurt and honey
camp out in the dining room

It's not an illustrious list. In fact, it's rather boring. My productivity has peaked, severely.

Things that I did:
have class outside!
-latin on the lawn
-greek in the gardens
-greek picnic, aka greek cultural outing with greek salad, baklava h, and yogurt & honey, and more
eat at the diner--awesome!
apply for a job
think about my summer plans
got a care package of cookies from my friend
drink lots of coffee
watch cheesy friday night television about a terrorist plot in la foiled by math with anne, dave, and others
meet a mini version of erin's professor
roasted by motoko!

A New Blog

This is what I am doing with my time instead of sleeping: starting a (new) blog. I had a cup of coffee after dinner today and I am still feeling the effects of the caffeine. I do not know what I will blog, do I really want to share my life with readers?, so I shall keep this first post at a minimum. This is a test.
